Great article. I've been as frustrated as anyone with our preseason recruitment, but I guess this is what stability looks like. It's not exciting, but it's massively preferable to the two periods of administration, or anyone in the (short) queue of dickheads typically looking to pick up a football club like us.

Communication from the top is terrible, but is the ambition to be run sustainably a lack of ambition?

When you hear fans demand to spend 'just a couple of million' each season, it's worth remembering just how much money that is. The average UK worker is projected to earn roughly £606,000 in per-person lifetime human capital value according to the ONS.

The definition of a thankless task: since 2018 the Venkys have been putting in £20M a year to keep Blackburn at around 10th in the Championship. You really do have to wonder what they were getting out of that deal.

I think you’re right. Social Media is crawling with experts* calling them out as terrible owners. Possibly true. Certainly not much in the way of thanks for the £160M+ spent keeping them in the Championship for eight years.

*i.e Blokes with a microphone and a webcam, who all look like they’ve never kicked a ball in anger. And they all seem to be called ‘Bro’.
